Ukraine Conscripts 800 Protesting Coal Miners from Western Region - Russia Insider

The coal miners of Western Ukraine who threatened a large-scale rebellion due to the three- month delay of salaries are being inducted into the army.

800 rebellious miners received notices directly from military commissars who delivered them to the coal mines.

According to the deputy mayor of Novovolynsk, Eduard Savik, the notices were delivered to coal mines no. 1 and no. 9 in Novovolynsk, which the state is planning to close. That’s where the majority of rebellious miners is employed.

The miners blocked highways several times this winter to protest government policies which does not finance the mines, but instead wants to close them and is not even paying coal miners’ salaries.

Several hundred miners are planning to stage a protest in Kiev on March 3 to force the government to pay them.

“They are taking revenge for strikes—they decided to simply draft the rebels. Many of my comrades who were blocking highways and were preparing to picket the Ministry of Energy and the Cabinet of Ministers, received draft notices,” says Aleksey, a miner from Novovolynsk. “This is even worse than the 1990s. There was hunger, but there was no war. Now it’s total chaos.”

TASS: World - Search for 8,000 army draft evaders unleashed in Ukraine’s south-west

KIEV, February 24. /TASS/. Authorities in Ukraine’s south-western Ivano-Frankivsk region have opened a search for about 8,000 men who are evading conscription for military service as part of the government’s yet another wave of mobilization, the Vesti news portal said on Tuesday.

Yuri Veranovsky, a deputy military commissar of the Ivano-Frankivsk regional military board told reporters the majority of those on the ‘wanted list’ were absent from the places of their official permanent residence while the mayors of rural communities refused to assist the workers of military boards in handing the call-up notifications to the designated population.

Local military commissars say many of the men, who were be drafted, had left for other countries while many others were hiding out on their private households and refusing to let anyone in.

Ukrainian legislation specifies punishment for evasion of military service. Any evader can be imprisoned for a period of up to five years.

In 2015, the Ukrainian Armed Forces hope to draft up to 200,000 conscripts as part of the fourth, fifth, and sixth waves of mobilization. Also, about 40,000 men should be drafted for regular military service.

Ukrainian journalist faces 15 years in jail after calls to boycott the draft | openDemocracy

A Ukrainian journalist has been arrested for publishing a video calling on his fellow citizens to boycott mobilisation. He is being charged with treason and espionage.

A court in the western Ukrainian city of Ivano-Frankivsk has ordered the arrest of a local freelance journalist on charges of espionage and high treason after he published a video on YouTube calling on Ukrainian citizens to boycott the mobilisation of Ukrainian men to fight a ‘fratricidal war’ in Ukraine’s east.

Ruslan Kotsaba, a freelance contributor to various Ukrainian TV channels, was arrested in the early hours of Sunday 8 February, according to Ukrainian media reports quoting the journalist’s wife. The court ruled on the same day that he should be held on remand for two months until his trial. Media representatives were reportedly barred from video and audio recording in the courtroom during the session.

Markiyan Lubkivsky, an adviser to the Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) said in a comment posted on his Facebook page on Sunday that materials have been seized from Kotsaba’s house, ‘which may indicate the commission of crimes’ under Article 111 (treason) and 114 (espionage) of Ukraine’s Criminal Code.

If convicted Kotsaba, 48, faces up to 15 years in prison.

Referring to the video that Kotsaba posted on YouTube, the court said in its ruling that his anti-mobilisation calls ‘hampered lawful activities of Ukraine’s Armed Forces’ and that they constituted ‘subversive activities’ against Ukraine.

In the video, Kotsaba, who has travelled to the eastern regions where government troops are waging a war against Russia-backed separatists, called on Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko – whom he says he had voted for in last year’s elections – to stop the fighting in the country’s restive Donbas region. A father of two children, he proclaimed that he would rather go to jail for dodging mobilisation than agree to kill his own compatriots ‘Glory to Ukraine!’ he exclaimed at the end of the video.

Mass Draft Evasion Shows Maidan Ukraine Is a Failing State - Russia Insider

While the US and much of the West continue to encourage, even urge Kiev to continue its suicidal and potentially genocidal ‘anti-terrorist operation’ (ATO) against the Donbass’s separatists, the Ukrainian state continues to melt down and drive wedge between it and what remains of its population.

One of the basic functions of viable state is its ability to possess a monopoly over the means of coercion. This requires maintaining a standing army to defend its sovereignty over the state’s territory and establishing police forces to enforce the law.

Moreover, having ‘lost’ its Crimeans and Donbassians, the Maidan regime now led by Ukrainian President Pyotr Poroshenko is alienating much of rump Ukraine’s remaining population by pressing forward with the civil war it initiated in April under the ATO label.

To be sure, he appears to be a moderate nationalist, but his under immense pressure from the national chauvinistic National Front and Fatherland parties and the neo-fascistic Radical Party, Right Sector and Social-National Assembly.

Members of these radicals party man the various volunteer battalions and are now breaking with the state and going rogue. In short, the Ukrainian state could be coming undone.

In a December public opinion survey conducted by Kiev’s ‘Social Monitoring’ group, an overwhelming majority of respondents (73 percent) wanted an end to the ATO. Only 19 percent supported its continuation, and 8 percent were undecided. This reflects a major shift from the beginning of the ATO when 50.4 percent fully or mostly supported it.

Mobilization or depopulation of Ukrainian Reich? | New Eastern Outlook

I have to admit that I love to watch interviews with George Soros. He always talks in such a balanced and reasonable way about his theories related to the ‘open society’. While at the same time, during Maidan in Kiev, followers of the so-called ‘civil liberties’ are running with axes.

Soros says, in one of his interviews, that he actually sends money for his foundation because he wants to create a situation in which citizens of that State will be somewhat independent. The way in which the citizens ‘understand’ democracy, according to what he says, he does not care so much and he leaves it to them. The foundations and groups simply use the money in their own way as they understand ‘independence from the state and the ‘civil democracy’.

Ukraine understands democracy and civil society in rather unique way. Currently focusing mainly on the bombing of civilians in Donetsk and sending more and more new recruits to, more or less certain, death on the Eastern Ukraine. And all of this in the name of democracy and free society as claim Ukrainian chocolate Sultan.

Why, more or less certain death? Because these young people have got smaller and smaller chances of winning with the so-called separatists who are becoming more experience in war.

This time, mobilization will reach 50,000 new people. And throughout the year 2015, 200,000 people. For me, the most interesting fact is that Ukrainians still trust Czekoladashenko and agree with what this man proposes. Man belonging to the caste of 0.0001%. Ukraine's "peace" President Poroshenko will pay men drafted to fight an extra $60 a day to go kill East Ukraine citizens - Red Pill Times

Talka notes: So, those who are drafted will get an extra $60 a day to fight Poroshenko's genocidal war. A couple of things. He promised something similar many months ago. Whatever happened to that promise? And if this happens, the extra pay soldiers collect in 1 week will be more than the monthly salary of doctors, nurses, teachers, and the police. Sound about right in the new Ukrainia.

Condemnations from America against Poroshenko’s military draft, and now pay raise…nothing.

EU puppets speaking out about Ukraine’s continued escalation of the war…no chance.

Why not use the money recently granted to Kiev from the EU and US to pay drafted citizens an extra $60 a day to go cleanse the East Ukraine of Russian speaking people. No matter what, no western leader will dare speak out against the criminal activities taking place in Donbass.

Next time European leaders gather around a table in Brussels to chew the fat and brag about how good and angelic they are, let there be no doubt that it’s the money from Brussels, and the money from each and every European citizen, myself included, that goes towards fuelling this war.

Today I just paid a portion of this $60 salary bump, per draftee, that will go towards a war that makes absolutely zero sense.

The European Union is infested with war criminals, who use European taxes to fund a war that benefits neo-cons in Washington.

On January 27th, Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense headlined “Militants Continue to Suffer Losses,” and reported that four helicopters, and other weapons of the “militants,” were destroyed in battle, but no evidence was given to support the assertion.

Just two days prior, the (also pro-Government) Kiev Post had, in fact, bannered “Ukraine Hides Devastating Losses as Russia-Backed Fighters Surge Forward,” and reported “Ukraine’s worst-kept secret — that the Ukrainian army is drastically understating its casualties.” After detailing, there, what seems to be outrageous unconcern by the Government, for the welfare of troops it’s sending into battle (even by jamming battlefield-injured soldiers into regular civilian hospitals, which aren’t equipped to handle their injuries), this report ends with a doctor saying, “It’s bad everywhere. Yes, the soldiers are still standing at their positions ready to fight. But we don’t see any help coming for them.”

The Ukrainian news agency RIAN headlined on January 26th, “Mobilization in Dnipropetrovsk Almost Drowned,” and reported, “In Dnipropetrovsk region [which is run by the U.S. White House’s friend, the Ukrainian-Swiss-Israeli billionaire Ihor Kolomoysky, whose longstanding personal mercenary army has, alone, more than 5,000 fighters], thousands of men are hiding from the draft. Enforcement officers recognize that accomplishing their task will be very difficult.” More than 2,000 people there who were drafted “did not show up, they evaporated.”

Consequently, the Government is dragooning-in, or “ambushing” (as the article says), virtually anyone who seeks help from the Government, “mobilizing the unemployed” and other “desperate” people. “Military enlistment offices complain” that some draftees are too sick to be able to fight at all.

Also on January 26th, the Fort Russ blog bannered, “Azov Commander Freaks Out, Calls the War ‘Lost’. Blames Everybody,” and reported that, “Ukrainian politicians and generals ‘already lost the war,’ and ‘the West did not help.’ That’s the core of the statement by Azov punitive [meaning: to ‘punish’ the residents in the anti-Government region, for their not supporting the Government] battalion commander’s, and currently also Rada [Parliament] Deputy’s, Andrey Biletsky, in his ‘Address to the Nation.’” According to Biletsky, after the fictitious “thousands of supposedly killed enemies and burned out tanks, the wake-up can be very painful,” because of disappointment felt from the Government’s lies.

... over the last 30 days the state border in the Chernivtsi region was crossed by 17% of the total number of conscripts of the region. From unofficial sources it is known that hostels and motels in the border region of neighboring Romania are completely filled with Ukrainian men evading conscription.

... 19% of notified conscripts of Volyn oblast refused military service on religious grounds, although in previous years the percentage of rejects for this reason did not exceed 0.7 percent.

War weary: Ukrainians voice resistance to new mobilization -- Society's Child -- Sott.net

Ukrainians are starting to realize that the war in the East is pointless. Their real enemies are in Kiev

Kiev authorities have announced that the next wave of mass mobilization will begin on January 28. But Ukrainians seem less than enthusiastic. From TASS:

Experts said it would not be easy for the authorities to carry out mobilization, as the Ukrainian population realizes that Kiev's military operation in the east has no sense.

A Ukrainian analyst and the founder of the Research and Branding Group company, Yevgeny Kopatko, said more and more statements were heard in the Ukrainian society about readiness to sit in prison, but not to go to fight. In the situation, the decision on mobilization will be another test for the Ukrainian authorities, he said.

Mobilization will be carried out in Ukraine in three stages and will last from January to August. During the year, the Ukrainian armed forces plan to mobilize 200,000 citizens and also draft 40,000 young people for military service.

TASS: Russia - Russia may extend sojourn for Ukrainians of conscription age — Putin

ST. PETERSBURG, January 26 /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Monday that Moscow might extend the period of sojourn in Russian territory for Ukrainians of conscription age who can be drafted into the Ukrainian army.

“Many people, by the way, do not want to be mobilized. They are trying to move into Russia and lie low for some time. And they are absolutely right because they are simply being sent under bullets like cannon fodder,” Putin said at a meeting with the students of the “Gornyi” University of Mineral Resources.

At the same time, the president said Ukrainian nationals can not stay in Russia longer than for a period established by the law.

“Under a new law, Ukrainian citizens cannot stay in Russia for more than 30 days. After that they have to return to Ukraine where they are being caught and sent under the bullets again. That is why I think that we are going to change something in that law,” Putin said adding the sojourn of some categories of people, especially those of conscription age, could be extended within legal framework.

TASS: World - Active phase of mobilization in Ukraine planned for Jan 28, 30

KIEV, January 26. /TASS/. An active phase of mobilization will begin in Ukraine this week, as over 60,000 people were notified, officials said.

Defense ministry spokesperson Viktoria Kushnir said the active phase of the mobilization process will be carried out on January 28 and 30.

Reservists will be sent to training centers, she said.

“Planned work is underway in all the Ukrainian military enlistment offices to inform /those to be mobilized/, and medical commissions have begun working.”

UNIAN news agency cited the spokesperson as saying that 61,748 reservists, 71.7% of the planned number, had been informed by January 25.

Those who evade mobilization will be registered on a special list, she said.

Report from Ukraine: Beware of mobilization!

Today I felt the difference between the third wave of mobilization, and the previous two. Everyone is calling, people are getting notices. While visiting a friends office in Kiev, who has about 50 employees, guys and girls, one pale employee brought an army summons, a second for this office, first already taken away. Next, I want to share, what I was told by my friends on the phone.

Zaporozhye. During a soccer game, a stadium got surrounded, rounded up a required number of young guys.

Odessa. At a factory (name not specified) in the morning, recruiters refined their lists through the human resources department, and caught their “recruits” right at the entrance.

Mariupol. As a rule, they “fish” for recruits at supermarkets (such as “Obzhora”). In all cases, they are not allowed to go back home. No medical checks, no paperwork. So I advise everyone to avoid mass gatherings of people.

And lastly, in Decree #607 of Jul 21 Poroshenko made cosmetic changes in labour legislation (supposedly to save jobs of enlisted for a year), which nobody will follow. But the most important thing, Poroshenko did not want to allow conscripts help with bank loans, if they lose a job. Die, but pay your debt!
