Yatsenyuk: One Quarter of Economy Lost, Hundreds of Companies Closed / Russian peacekeeper

Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk said Tuesday his country has lost 25 percent of its economy because of the conflict in Donbass, hundreds of businesses have been closed.

"We have lost a quarter of the Ukrainian economy. Because of the war…hundreds of companies have been closed, but we were able to collect more taxes than last year," Yatsenyuk said at a meeting with governors. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) approved $17.5-billion financial aid for Ukraine. In exchange for money Kiev committed to implementing deep political, social and financial reforms.
Yatsenyuk said Ukraine needs a new constitution, the main provisions of which should be approved in a referendum: "The will of the people, expressed through a referendum, should define Ukraine’s new constitution." Yatsenyuk said the new constitution would give the Ukrainian regions more powers, and would introduce a European legal system. Earlier in March, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko signed a decree to set up a commission to amend the country’s constitution.

It seems to me they won’t simply kick your ass, but rather f*ck you over thoroughly as a failed petty thief from a provincial town square. No, Senya, it won’t be a bullet to the head, because there is no evidence of head existing where the bullet needs to go. Your head somehow has not been in evidence.

Seems to me the first to start f*cking with you are the Maidan people who were inspired by your fiery speeches about justice and fighting oligarchs during the cold winter days of 2014, then were themselves shot in the head.

They’ll beat you because you delivered the country to one or more oligarchs, they’ll also beat Poroshenko who quickly put together his People’s Front (read: Front against the People). You were so united when it came to the Ukrnafta vote. So we no longer need money in the budget?

They’ll also beat you, Senya, for all the dirty deals in the Cabinet. The coal contracts, the electricity contract with Russia, Mokhnik and his waste disposal, Ukrspirt, etc., etc., etc.

That’s because, Senya, the chief doctor is responsible for the entire hospital, colonel for the regiment, and Prime Minister for the entire Cabinet of Ministers. He also answers for all the appointments to the Cabinet. Tell me, Senya, what idiot named an individual with barely an undergraduate degree to head the Ministry of Education, thus demonstrating that one does not need to have education to head the Ministry of Education?

They’ll beat you with quiet enjoyment and undisguised pleasure for failing to pick up money off the ground and put it into the long-suffering budget. Senya, you are a well-educated kid from a family whose roots go back to an eternally persecuted and educated nation. You no doubt know what Al Capone went to prison for. He ended up there for the banal failure to pay taxes. Senya, what’s so difficult in comparing ministers’, judges, prosecutors’ tax payment records with the registers of their declared property? I’m telling you, Senya, there’s enough money there for three budgets, with enough to left over to repay the IMF. Best of all, there’s nothing left to prove. Everything has been documented since 2000, unless I’m mistaken.

And what have you done? You cut retirement pensions.

On 8 January 2015, Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk demonstrated once again that he is either a liar or an ignoramus (inspired by Russophobia) when he told a German TV channel, "I will not allow the Russians to march across Ukraine and Germany, as they did in WWII." Putting aside his ludicrous bravado -- analogous to a crazed, dying gnat promising to stop a bull elephant -- only the untaught do not know that it was Hitler's Nazi Germany that invaded the Soviet Union on June 22, 1941. Moreover, while most military historians specializing in the history of the Eastern Front (including this writer) know that the Red Army played by far the greatest role in saving Europe from prolonged Nazi rule, only an ignoramus or liar like Mr. Yatsenyuk would say, "We all very well remember the Soviet invasion of Ukraine and Germany, and we have to avoid it."

Mr. Yatsenyuk, you'll recall, was the darling of Victoria Nuland and Geoffrey Pyatt; two U.S. officials who plotted to place him into Ukraine's government as Prime Minister. Coincidently, Mr. Yatsenyuk became Prime Minister. Imagine that! Yet, he clearly is in over his head as a leader of what historian J. Arch Getty has labeled the "erratic state" of Ukraine.

But, "erratic" is far too mild a word to use when describing a statement made by Prime Minister Yatsenyuk in June 2014. It was then that Mr. Yatsenyuk pandered to all of his neo-Nazi supporters fighting for his regime in eastern Ukraine by asserting -- on the homepage of the Embassy of Ukraine in the United States of America, no less -- that Russians in eastern Ukraine were "subhumans." (Check the widely available screenshot.) Hitler would have been proud.

But, if Yatsenyuk is either a Russophobic ignoramus or liar who spreads filthy propaganda about Russians and Russian history to people who have no sense of history, what are we to call the editors, columnists and reporters at the New York Times, who do the very same thing?

The Times commenced its latest propaganda campaign against Russia on 28 November 2013, when it published an overwrought editorial titled, "Ukraine Backs Down." Clearly, some Russophobe's head must have exploded. Who, but an outraged Russophobe would conclude that President Vladimir Putin's "strong-arm tactics" against Ukraine would cost Russia its chance "to find its place in the democratic and civilized world."

"Civilized World?" Seriously? "According to data recently released by the Organization for Co-operation and Development (OECD)," the Russians are the most educated people in the world. "More than half of Russian adults held tertiary degrees in 2012 -- the equivalent of college degree in the United States -- more than in any other country reviewed" (USA Today, Sept. 13, 2014). Moreover, given the resounding contributions to the civilized world by Pushkin, Karamzin, Gogol, Dostoevsky, Mendeleev, Prokofiev, Tolstoy, Chekov, Nureyev, Akhmatova, Bakhtin, Pasternak, Lomonosov, Tchaikovsky, Solzenitsyn, Berdyaev, Rublev, Chagall, Euler, Balanchine, Zoschenko, Rachmaninov, Bulgakov, Chaliapin, Gorbachev, Diaghilev, Kliuchevsky, Sholokhov, Mussorgsky, Eisenstein, Glinka, Shostakovich, Kapitsa, Lermontov, Kantorovich, Repin, Herzen, Nabokov, Gagarin, Kandinsky, Mayakovsky, Rimsky-Korsakov, Nijinsky, Kalashnikov, Zamyatin, Tarkovsky, Sakharov, Bely, Gurevich, Faberge, Alekhine, Stravinsky and my beloved mentor, the polymath Utechin (who wrote A Concise Encylopaedia of Russia) -- just to name a few -- doesn't the editorial board at the Times sound almost as ignorant or deceitful as Mr. Yatsenyuk?

More to the point, just four days before Mr. Yatsenyuk issued his deceitful or ignorant Russophobic rant, the Times reached a new Russophobic low when it published propaganda designed to whitewash evidence that President Yanukovych was overthrown in a violent and illegal coup.

Its propaganda piece was titled: "Ukraine Leader Was Defeated Even Before He Was Ousted." It was written by the same reporters, Andrew Higgins and Andrew E. Kramer, who performed similar hatchet jobs for the Times, when reporting on the actual events in Kiev during the period February 18-21, 2014 -- which led to the coup of February 22.

Parliament member recommends that Yatsenyuk ride a donkey | Ukraina.ru

Serhiy Kaplin, a member of the Petro Poroshenko bloc in the Verkhovna Rada, has recommended that Aresniy Yatsenyuk change his ride

The deputy was enraged by the fact that the Ukrainian prime minister changed the tires on his service Mercedes with government money at an obviously inflated rate. Meanwhile, the wealth of most Ukrainian citizens is vanishing every day. In some regions, people are even starving.

"You should ride a donkey while the country is going through such a crisis," the parliament member told Yatsenyuk.

The state paid over $10,400 for the snow tires. Kaplin claims Yatsenyuk is no better in his spending habits than the unpopular ex-prime minister Mykola Azarov.

"Just recently, Yatsenyuk bought winter tires for his Mercedes that used to belong to Azarov. One tire cost $2,655. It is a cold shot for the entire country where regular people can’t even afford to change their tires and have to use summer tires. And he did that on government money," Kaplin said on Ukrainian TV.

The deputy believes all government officials must reduce their expenses during such difficult times, including government members, judges, prosecutors and their assistants. Also, the government should be more careful with its ministerial expenses.

Ukraine's PM compares Russia to the Soviet Union in 1940 – and adds “it must be prevented from invading Ukraine and Germany again!“

Live before millions of German viewers, in Berlin with the Reichstag on the background, Ukraine's PM Arseniy Yatsenyuk thunders: „nobody is entitled to rewrite the outcome of WW2“.

The setting is an interview with Tagesthemen („Issues of the day“)- Germany's second most important TV news magazine.

Which outcome, we beg his pardon? But the – wait for it – the Soviet invasion of Germany of course! How is that for rewriting the outcome of WW2?

In a country where the denial of the Holocaust a criminal offense, and where Nazi insignia – so popular in Ukraine today - is illegal, Yats had just declared:

„Russian aggression in the Ukraine is a threat to world order“

„We can all very well remember the Soviet invasion of the Ukraine and Germany. This must be prevented from happening again”

The genius immediately went viral on social networks like Twitter.

Yatsenyuk’s former spokesperson outraged by PM’s decision | Ukraina.ru

Yvanna Kobernik, the former spokesperson for Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk, comments on the government’s decision to charge education tax

"The new government is giving us hell. Bill No. 1578 aims to destroy everything we have fought for all these years," Kobernik writes on her Facebook account. "The Cabinet of Ministers hasn’t come up with anything better than to charge 20 percent value-added tax on education services. This measure would shut down music, sports and secondary schools, and it would prevent talented children from developing their abilities and taking part in extra-curricular education. It would destroy preschool education and shut down private schools, which make up only one percent of all schools nationwide," she notes.

The decision of the post-Euromaidan government aims to scale down education services and to stop the personal growth of children.

"From now on, we will have to pay cash on the nail and hire home tutors. Yatsenyuk, Jaresko (Ukrainian Minister of Finance – Ed.) & Co., are you and your children planning to live in California? The United States and the European Union provide extra benefits to parents paying for their children to go to private school. With such ideas, you will not last until March 1," Kobernik notes.

Kobernik, a journalist, host of the Fakty (Facts) TV show and editor in chief of the Svoboda Slova (Freedom of Speech) talk show, supported Euromaidan protesters from the very outset and was also Yatsenyuk’s spokesperson in 2010-2011.

One of the odd things inevitably lost in the mire and labyrinth of complex high politics is how often executive leaders purposely and subtly prolong conflict, confusion, and corruption because to minimize it or to make progress against it will signal the start of actually assessing the effectiveness and power of their own leadership. This seemed to be what Ukraine was experiencing under the guidance of Arseniy Yatsenyuk as Prime Minister. Now that he has resigned, let us make sure his ‘leadership’ is not inaccurately assessed and evaluated. Ukraine can do better.

It is easy to forget, since it was never highly emphasized in Western media to begin with (a special exception goes to Forbes.com, which had always looked skeptically and critically at Yatsenyuk, even BEFORE he elevated to his present primary leadership position), but Ukraine’s Prime Minister was a rather uninspiring and non-innovative thinker, whether that be politically or economically. His appeal to Western power brokers was his ability to be pliable, to be worked, to be a ‘company guy.’ Of course, the ‘company’ in question for this discussion was the European Union, not the sovereign national interests of Ukraine.

And that seemed to cause major problems for the ‘new’ Ukraine: the only thing it discussed was whether or not it would follow EU interests or American interests or Russian interests. Its own leader was not apparently striving to carve out and determine what may be truly UKRAINIAN interests and then figure out how those interact and coordinate with the interests of others. This is the high politics formula of foreign affairs and has been so for over a thousand years. Not engaging this formula properly basically means the leader of Ukraine was simply trying to decide which power group to be a vassal state for. This is disappointing, but perhaps not unexpected.

Yatsenyuk was not simply a technocrat (and we all know there has never been a new or innovative idea, EVER, from such types), he was a relatively little regarded technocrat IN HIS OWN COUNTRY JUST SIX MONTHS AGO. At the beginning of the year he trailed in local popularity to figures such as the boxer Vitali Klitschko and the rather wild nationalist leader, Oleh Tyahnybok. This is not exactly inspiring pedigree to pin your political future to as a country. But what Yatsenyuk had was the interest of the European Union and the United States. Again, not because he was particularly awe-inspiring or truly seemed to stand out amongst all possible choices for a better and stable Ukraine: he was the candidate who was most willing to maintain a staunch opposition to whatever maneuvers or initiatives came out of Russia while also not having many independent ideas of his own. And that revealed itself to be one of the major stumbling blocks to closing the chapter on the Ukrainian conflict.

The Ukraine Genocide and its Cheerleaders | Global Research

As the world’s media circus moves on to Iraq and the international community’s already-waning attention switches from Ukraine to a new series of the ‘US foreign policy disaster’ horror show, the Prime Minister of Ukraine Yatsenyuk publicly announces the Kiev government’s genocidal plans in relation to anti-government militants as well as the entire civilian population of East Ukraine, largely composed of ethnic Russians, who oppose the Neo-Nazi regime in Kiev.

Following the Third Reich’s textbook and without any attempt to conceal it, Prime Yatsenyuk refers to the group they are trying to exterminate as ‘subhuman’. This fascist manifesto is then proudly displayed on Ukraine`s Embassy website in the US. [click image to enlarge]

Around the same time, Ukraine’s Minister of Defence announces plans for ‘filtration camps’, where survivors linked to “separatism” will be detained, and Ukraine’s Land Agency reveals that a Ukrainian LEBENSRAUM plan has been defined, which promises free land to Ukrainian soldiers involved in the genocide directed against ethnic Russian Untermensch.

Hitler would be proud and so was the US State Department Spokesperson Jen Psaki, who ignored AP’s Matt Lee’s concern raised at the State Department’s meeting about the choice of the word ‘subhuman’, instead praising Ukrainian Prime Minister and his leadership as been “consistently in support of a peaceful resolution.” (later the website changed it to inhuman, but the first screenshot was already out there)

The most “effective steps” amongst many taken by the Kiev government ‘in support of a peaceful resolution’ in East Ukraine consisted in the following “killing operations”:

1) THE MARIUPOL KILLINGS - intentional killing of unarmed persons by government agents;

2) ODESSA MASSACRE - carried out “unofficially” or by private groups with the government promoting and turning a blind eye to massacre

3) LUGANSK BOMBINGS - indiscriminate civilian bombing (unlawful under Article 48, Geneva Convention);

4) SLAVYANSK SHELLINGS- indiscriminate civilian killings by shelling (as above);

5) KRAMATORSK SHELLINGS – indiscriminate civilian killings by shelling (as above).

These are but a few amongst many “successful peaceful measures” taken by the Ukrainian “government”, that have officially claimed the lives of 270 civilians (11.06.14), amongst them a 12 year old boy and 6 year old girl. The death toll is quickly rising.
