NoBC4U Note: Dang! Forty trucks in four days. I'm wondering if this is something that's been going on all along, or if this is some kind of "economic offensive" Banderastan is using against Crimea.
MOSCOW, June 18. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia has banned trucks with Ukraine’s counterfeit goods from entering Crimea. On June 12-15, 2014, inspectors of the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phyto-Sanitary Control for Crimea and Sevastopol turned away 40 trucks on Ukraine’s border with Crimea upon discovering more than a hundred tonnes of counterfeit products bound for the peninsula.
All the vehicles were returned to the territory of Ukraine, the Russian veterinary and phyto-sanitary watchdog reported on Wednesday. One of the trucks belonging to the Melitopol meat plant private joint-stock company carried four tonnes of refrigerated pork.
Ukrainian suppliers also tried to smuggle 5 tonnes of raw products and dairy and vegetable oil disguised as hard pressed cheese; several tonnes of ice cream without any manufacturing date or marking as well as several packages of dry mix for the production of ice cream into Crimea without any accompanying papers.
Besides, veterinary and phyto-sanitary experts discovered one tonne of sea foods hazardous for health. The cargo included caviar, eels and other sea products which had been produced in February 2014 and were being transported unfrozen.
The Russian inspectors also banned trucks with calves and piglets; sausages with hazardous ingredients, melted cheese, smoke products and other foods which had not undergone proper heating from entering Crimea.
