Russians Thank the US for Crimea

A group of supporters and activists from the Russian Great Fatherland organisation gathered in front of the US consulate in St. Petersburg on Friday to "express their gratitude" to the United States and President Barack Obama for aiding Crimea's joining the Russian Federation.

According to organisers of the protest, US contributed a lot to the revival of Russian patriotism, reunification of the Russian world and expansion of the boundaries of Russian state through financing and helping nationalists in Ukraine.

Participants of the rally presented to one US diplomat a loaf with inscription 'Thanks for the Crimea!' Activists also held placards reading 'Life should be lived so that America imposes sanctions on you', 'America, thank you for Crimea!' and 'You have been financing fascism - get Russian patriotism!'
